Join Center for Food Action and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service Snack Pack Challenge to fund 5,000 Snack Packs for area children
On Monday, January 17, 2022, our country will pause to celebrate the 93rd birthday of civil rights leader Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King’s messages advocated for economic justice, education, housing, empowerment of the poor, and working-class people of all colors. Dr. King stated, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘what are you doing for others?’”
Join Center for Food Action and our Event Chair, Mrs. Theodora Smiley Lacey, as we seek to alleviate the issue of childhood hunger in northern NJ. Our 2022 Virtual Day of Service funds Snack Packs for area school children at risk of hunger during the pandemic. Whether schools are in person, hybrid, or remote, being left without adequate nutrition is not an option!
Our goal is to raise $25,000, enough for 5,000 snack packs. Together we can help overcome childhood hunger by honoring Dr. King’s legacy as we feed the children in our neighborhoods.
Our children are worth it!
